Participation in the regional conference on construction
We took an active part in the regional construction conference held in Sarajevo. In our panel presentation, we were pleased to present the complex research and innovation project "New business model of a circular economy for more sustainable urban construction - Cinderela funded by the European program" Horizon 2020 ".
We talked about how industrial waste (slag) can be turned into a significant source of secondary raw materials (SRM) for the production of construction materials and an important basis for implementing a new business model of a circular economy for more sustainable urban construction (CEBM).
The Cinderela project itself contributes to the companies to establish successful business cases of circular economy based on the possibilities from waste to resource, ie the concept "Zero waste", through the application of products in the construction sector obtained based on secondary raw materials (SRM).
GIM as part of a consortium of thirteen outstanding research institutions and organizations from seven European countries involved in the Cinderela project, together with the company Makstil jointly participate in activities for setting up a pilot plant for mechanical processing of secondary industrial raw material - slag (black and white), obtained from waste iron smelting furnaces in the Makstil factory and development of the possibilities for its application in the construction industry.
