CEIM is part of the long-term project for Energy Efficient Rehabilitation of nine student dormitories in Skopje, Prilep, Bitola, Ohrid, and Shtip, in which the Ministry of Education and Science of RNM is an Investor, a donor KFW Bank, and the EU. The reconstruction consists of three main components: improving the energy efficiency of the buildings, structural measures (reconstruction of the damaged parts of the structure), and overall improvement of comfort inside the buildings. The Investor is the Ministry of Education and Science of RNM, financed by KFW Bank and the European Union/EU. The main goal of this project is to contribute to climate change protection activities by reducing CO2 emissions and creating better living and learning conditions for students in North Macedonia.
The first completed Detailed Design is for the Stiv Naumov Student Dormitory in the Gazi Baba municipality in Skopje. The Kuzman Josifovski Pitu Student Dormitory, which is in the Center municipality, is currently being completed. At the moment, some of these buildings are out of use. Interestingly, there is a design for photovoltaic panel installation for both buildings, with the maximum capacity by the potentials of the buildings.
