CEIM is to create a basic hydrogeological map (BHGM), a strategic document for our country. These researches have a regional character, and with them, organized and planned groundwater research carry out to determine the groundwater resource and rational and planned utilization and management of the same.
The Client of the works is the Geological Survey of the Republic of North Macedonia. The hydrogeological research is in several phases. From August to October 2022, the second phase of the preparation of the BHGM Skopje Sheet was complete, and the hydrogeological mapping of the terrain covered an area of 500 k m². As more significant activity during the first phase was monitoring the observation network within the BHGM – Skopje Sheet, every month, in which more than 60 water phenomena and structures, such as rivers, springs, wells, piezometers, and many more monitored.
