Interview with Tatiana Ivanovska – Head of the department of legal affairs, and human resources
"My team and I have established all HR processes - from recruitment and selection, introductory training and mentoring, which is a defined responsibility of the immediate superiors, chief engineers and middle management, in order to enable faster training and involvement of new employees in performing daily working tasks.
With the career development plans we encourage the employees for their further education, masters, doctorates and thus we build a culture of learning among the employees. We have developed programs for training and development of employees, we organize internal professional training and workshops in accordance with the specific requirements of employees, and as lecturers-trainers are our experienced staff experts in the relevant field of construction. We also have a special rulebook for professional development and further training of employees.
We have implemented an internship program for students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and other technical faculties in the Republic of Macedonia, to ensure the development of professional skills of young professionals in the period of their education and to gain some work experience for their employment. The current situation in the companies in Macedonia, especially in our company shows that the newly hired beginners without work experience find it difficult to cope with the work processes and find it difficult to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. It is a big challenge for me through this program, the interns who are a source of highly motivated and not yet developed professionals to develop according to the needs of the company and to be potential employees in CEIM.
We prepare and implement specialized talent management programs, in cooperation with our Center for Research and Development and our Scientific Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy where employees are given the opportunity, in addition to regular work tasks, to participate in innovative and development projects where employee creativity is encouraged and it should produce new, innovative solutions.
We have digitized 70% of the processes in HR by purchasing a software solution.
"We still have a lot of work to do and the opportunity for improvement and upgrading is unlimited." - says Tatjana Ivanovska - Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Human Resources at the Civil Engineering Institute MACEDONIA AD Skopje in an interview with 24HR.
