The Project global goal is to improve the railway infrastructure along the TEN-T Core Network towards the Western Balkans by establishing operational continuity and opening new opportunities for the region's integrated and sustainable economy and social growth.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) fund the project - within the IPF/WBIF program. The project implementer is the Delegation of the European Union (EUD) in Skopje, while the beneficiary is the Public Enterprise for Railway Infrastructure.
The Geotechnics, Operations, and Laboratory Departments of Civil Engineering Institute Macedonia participated in this project, and for an extremely short period of only 5 (five) months (May 17 - October 17, 2023), they conducted the required extensive geotechnical investigations.
